I Fight Dragons

Hailing from the Windy City, I Fight Dragons has harnessed the power of the chiptune for the greater good, masterfully blending pop rock and chiptune to create a smorgasbord of pure awesome. Entirely self-produced and recorded, their debut EP Cool Is Just a Number… was released in early 2009 and began to receive much attention online as numerous fan sites started appearing when the band first started releasing songs on their website. With their first show completely sold out, it wasn’t long before the band began to penetrate the local Chicago scene. Several concerts at Chicago’s infamous venue Metro and at Warped Tour finally solidified I Fight Dragons’s signing to Photo Finish Records in 2010. Their follow-up EP garnered even more attention, as Welcome to the Breakdown provided an even more daring approach to alt-rock than ever before. Touring with acts such as 3oh!3 and MC Chris, the band has made a name for itself through their use of NES controllers and power gloves on stage. Just as claimed on their biography, I Fight Dragons is definitely “the sonic “power up” that pop culture needs”.
