That’s right folks, the Nerda-POD-looza, the OFFICIAL Nerdapalooza Podcast, is in the bootstrapping stages right now.

Artist's rendition of the first professional podcast

For those that are new to the Nerdapalooza experience, we used to have a weekly podcast where we would talk about Nerdapalooza news weekly and play new music and showcase Nerdapalooza artists. I’m currently working with our longtime supporter A Comic Shop on reviving that. You can watch the progress of Nerda-POD-looza over at it’s new site: NerdaPODlooza.com

Exciting times! Stay tuned, o faithful nerdom. :)

Nerdapalooza 2009: What a Weekend!

July 21, 2009 By: Editor Category: Uncategorized

A week and a half has already gone by, and from the looks of the tweets, people are STILL sore from the awesome that was Nerdapalooza 2009. Post-Nerdapalooza Depression (PND) is already hitting strong, but fortunately there are a few solutions to shake off the symptoms, however, there’s only one cure… but that’s not for another year.

Once again, I’d like to give mad love to our sponsors, EMPulse Records, A Comic Shop, D3 Productions, Nerdcore Network, Rhyme Torrents, Enemy Ink, Vitamin Water, BAWLS Energy Drinks, PosiMotion, Nerdcore For Life, and AMAZING p. Without them, Nerdapalooza would hot have been as successful as it was. Final count for attendees this year was around 500 music loving nerds. Not too surprisingly, there’s already more footage on Youtube of this year’s show than all the others combined. While a simple Youtube search for Nerdapalooza sorted by “recently uploaded” will keep you entertained for a while, MAD applause goes to my man, Data Vortex, who video taped a LARGE portion of the show and uploaded it in record time. You can peep his Youtube channel here.

Now, a twitter pal of mine, Free_Geek , but for those of you that are in the mood to experience a touch of Nerdapalooza until then, and maybe find a way to help out before hand can join the fan made Nerdapalooza Freaks Google Group. I’ll be running ideas for Nerdapalooza 2010 there, so definitely sign up if you’d like to get a sneak peek of what’s coming up.

Thank you everyone for making Nerdapalooza 2009 an amazing event. I’m going to try to get back to updating regularly with what news I can. Here’s hoping to have a Personal Top 10 Moments out soon. <3

T'was the Wednesday Before Nerdapalooza…

July 08, 2009 By: hex Category: Uncategorized

Well, it’s upon us once again. No longer a “one day it’ll be here”, but in fact just a few days away. Nerdapalooza. The night where the nerds will, in fact, rock.

For the first time ever I’ve actually been receiving frequently asked questions, so I thought I’d start off the blog with answering these so you won’t be waiting for a long response from yours truly:

Will tickets be available at the door?
Yes. They will still be at the $15 a day and $20 for the weekend rates.

I purchased a ticket for more than just myself, but my party and I are arriving at separate times. Will this be a problem?
Not at all! Email us from the address that you purchased your ticket with as a form of authorization, explain the situation and list the names of the people you purchased tickets for. That will ensure the most amount of flexibility for you and your party.

I have not received a physical ticket. How will I get into the show?
This year we’re going a 100% digital system. We have a comprehensive will-call list that will be updated 3 hours before the event (when online sales close). If you purchased a ticket ahead of time, make sure you have a valid form of photo ID.

Did this not answer your question? Send an email over to faq@nerdapaloozafest.com and I’ll answer as quickly as I can.

Next up, let’s talk social networking! We’re on a mission to totally disrupt Twitter!! Let’s make #nerdapalooza a trending topic on there. Whenever you can, throw it in there. Also, if you aren’t yet, follow us! As for Facebook, if you haven’t already join the group, attend the event, and share the HELL out of both of them! Let everyone know what you’re doing this weekend!!

We also want to thank EVERYONE very much who donated to Nerdapalooza this past week. You helped us out very much and made a difference. We’re still looking for donations, though, and helping out will NOT go unnoticed! You can donate here.

Nerdapalooza has also been receiving a wave of press that we’re not used to getting! It’s making us feel respectable and all that jazz! One article in particular we’re really excited about came up on Newsarama.com yesterday. If you get a chance, go to the article and “recommend” it so it gets a higher ranking on the site, getting us more exposure!

If you haven’t heard about it yet, the Pre-Party is going to be AWESOME AND A HALF! All the details are on the Facebook event page for it, but the basic details are free pizza, free beer (for those of age and WE WILL BE CHECKING!), and free music. None other than Schaffer the Darklord, the showstopper from last year’s Nerdapalooza, will be headlining the night. It’ll be this Friday from 8 until around 11:30. If you aren’t sure if you want to go to Nerdapalooza, this party will be a good litmus test of what you’ve got coming at you.

Finally, this HAS to be the find of the day! Apparently when the artists are waiting for Nerdapalooza, they hang out in cafes together. May I present two of the Nerdapalooza headliners, mc chris and MC Frontalot
